Playa Del Rey

Playa del Rey, Los Angeles Real Estate

Coastal neighborhood with a classic beach town vibe

Playa del Rey, Los Angeles is a coastal neighborhood on the Westside with a classic California beach town vibe. Residents described Playa del Rey as the last true small beach community left in Los Angeles while outlining their opposition to a proposed high-rise condominium development in 2018. The development was scrapped and all construction in this charmingly old-fashioned community is capped at three stories. Playa del Rey’s proximity to the thriving Silicon Beach tech hubs of Playa Vista, Manhattan Beach, and Venice Beach has led to a booming real estate market in recent years. Housing styles are a mix of traditional Southwestern-style single-family homes, townhouses, and low-rise condominium buildings.
